At World Health Care Infrastructure, each functional team works in partnership with a group of staff with cultural and geographic expertise.
► Asia and the Pacific Islands: WHCI's work in Asia and the Pacific Islands operates under the direction of Ms. Eriko Saito, MPH. Ms. Saito, a PhD Candidate in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, is an expert in the fields of epidemiology and data collection. Ms. Saito's doctoral research focuses on "Factors on AIDS Competency in Zambia." A native of Tokyo, Japan, Ms. Saito has conducted extensive HIV/AIDS research in addition to this document, including work on "Attitude and practice toward HIV/AIDS Prevention Among Sex Workers in Tokyo", "Maternal to Child Transmission Study in the State of Louisiana", and "Nepal Field Research on Health Behavior". Ms. Saito served as a Programme Officer for the United Nations Joint Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) as part of its Southeast Asia and Pacific Intercountry Team, as well as its Local Responses Team in Geneva.
